The Tableau (New Tab Page): Instead of a standard new tab, Yandex uses a "Tableau"—a visually rich dashboard containing widget-like tiles for your most visited websites. You can pin, unpin, and customize these tiles.
Using Alice AI: You don't need to open a separate tab for ChatGPT. You can type complex prompts directly into the address bar (the "Smartbox"). Alternatively, click the Alice icon on the sidebar to open the chat agent, which can summarize the exact webpage you are currently reading.
Translating Videos: When you hover over a video player (like YouTube) playing in a foreign language, a small "Translate video" button will appear at the top. Click it, and Yandex's AI will mute the original track and overlay an AI-generated voiceover in your language.
Managing Extensions: Because it is Chromium-based, you can go to the Chrome Web Store and install almost any extension. Yandex also has its own curated add-on store for additional tools.
Using Yandex Browser's real-time video translation is surprisingly seamless because it happens entirely as an overlay on top of standard video players like YouTube, Vimeo, or Twitch.
