2. Windows

Installing on Windows is straightforward and uses a standard installation wizard:

1. Visit the official download page: play0ad.com/download/windows

2. Download the installation executable (.exe).

3. Run the downloaded installer.

4. Follow the on-screen prompts (the wizard will guide you through choosing an installation folder and creating a Desktop shortcut).

5. Launch the game from the Start menu or directly from your Desktop.

3. macOS

The game runs natively on macOS, but due to Apple's security protocols (Gatekeeper), the initial setup requires one extra step:

2. Download the disk image file (.dmg).

4. Important note for the first launch: Because this is an independent, open-source software, double-clicking it normally might cause macOS to block it, showing an "unidentified developer" warning.

   • The Fix: Go to your Applications folder, hold down the Control key, right-click the 0 A.D. icon, and select Open. In the warning dialog box that appears, click Open once more. You only need to do this the very first time you run the game.
